“All good things must come to an end.”

After almost five good years & 40 great trips we felt it was time to move on.  Our recreational patterns have changed from a primary focus on boondocking in the woods to more stays in full-service parks in conjunction with events.  The Chalet concept is ideal for the rustic campground with limited access, but a little out of place as a "portable motel room" in a resort surrounded by huge motorhomes! When we reached our early 50's we found a real bathroom, more storage, and dedicated bedroom is more of a priority than the ability to slip into a tight site near the lake! I guess we just got tired of the constant shuffling of stuff around the trailer so we could make up the bed or cook a meal.   Lots of fond memories we'll never forget...

In February 2008 we attended the Portland RV Show and bought our next rig - a beautiful new Tango 276RBS.  We looked at all the other models at the show and were just not impressed  with any of the offerings from the big manufacturers. Quality seemed low & the workmanship minimal, so after a few hours we headed for the door.  On the way out we passed by some Tango models on display from Johnson RV Sales and decided to take a look.  As with the Salem RV Show we attended about six months prior, marketing assistance was provided by Ray Found from Pacific Coachworks; the son of one of the executives of the company who was tasked with getting the relatively new company off the ground.  Given he helped design all their trailers he was a wealth of knowledge and could answer literally any question in excruciating detail!  We were struck by the superior craftsmanship & quality component from such a young company; until you realize the guys running it are industry veterans who know their stuff!

We consigned our little wagon to Pacific Campers in Hillsboro, OR and Jon sold it in one day to a happy camper who got a pretty good deal.  Great people to work with - highly recommended!

I'm working on a new website for the Tango & will have it up by the end of summer.  So far we've taken a few trips and it's a dream compared to the Chalet - but you pay the price in MPG & towing ease.  Those A-Frame ads are telling the truth!  I'll be leaving this site active for the foreseeable future so people can refer to any of the information within.
